GENERAL DESCRIPTION

Burgundy Roots is a Halal-friendly travel agency that curates culturally immersive, adventure-rich group travel experiences designed to connect travelers deeply with local culture, history, and community.

This Morocco Road Trip — also called Morocco Madness — centers on authentic experiences rather than just scenic photo spots. Participants will travel across Morocco with expert guides and special guest Mustafa Briggs, a renowned writer and lecturer known for exploring Black History in Islam. He adds cultural depth and historical insight throughout the journey.

The itinerary blends guided tours, cultural immersion, history, leisure, and the warmth of Moroccan hospitality — all while traveling in shared accommodations and enjoying local cuisine and community connections.

PROGRAM HIGHLIGHTS

Day 1 — Arrival & Introductions:
Arrival at Fes Airport. Meet the group and a team member who will assist you with connecting to a driver (airport pickup/drop-off not included). Transfer to the riad, settle in, and join the team later for rooftop tea, introductions, and community time.

Day 2 — Explore Fes:
Traditional Moroccan breakfast followed by a guided tour of Fes Medina, including mosques, artisan workshops, tanneries, and the historic university. Lunch is included; evening class/discussion with Mustafa Briggs after dinner.

Day 3 — Free Day in Fes:
Morning class with Mustafa Briggs at 10:00 AM. Afterward, free time to visit the Masjid, book a hammam experience, explore shops, or wander the streets of the Medina.

Day 4 — Pottery & Art Day:
Engage in an optional pottery painting session (approx. $20 USD) followed by tea and social time. Free exploration of the Medina is also offered. Evening class with Mustafa Briggs.

Day 5 — Departure to Chefchaouen:
Depart at 9:00 AM for Chefchaouen (≈5-hour drive). Check into the hotel, enjoy dinner, and meet for an evening class with Mustafa Briggs. Guests are advised to pack only essential items for the next few days due to stairs at the hotel entrance.

Day 6 — Chefchaouen Exploration:
Guided tour of Chefchaouen, learning its history and cultural significance. Free time after lunch to explore the city’s blue alleys and markets. Evening class with Mustafa Briggs.

Day 7 — Free Day in Chefchaouen:
Free day to wander, shop, or optionally visit a secret forest and waterfalls (approx. $30 USD). Group class with Mustafa Briggs at night.

Day 8 — Casablanca:
Depart for Casablanca (≈5-hour drive). Lunch at a favorite local restaurant, hotel check-in, and sunset visit to Hassan II Mosque.

Day 9 — Departure:
Trip concludes. Farewells and safe travels inshā’Allāh!
